A local government authority in West Vancouver is seeking a Senior Bylaw Enforcement Officer to oversee investigations, enforce regulations, and lead a team. The District of West Vancouver’s Bylaw and Licensing Services Department has openings for a permanent, full-time Senior Bylaw Enforcement Officer. We are looking for highly motivated individuals who are excited to build and foster both external and internal relationships and develop and implement new programs.
Reporting to the Bylaw and Licensing Services Supervisor, this position will be responsible for:
The preferred candidates will possess: considerable knowledge of municipal bylaws, regulations, policies and procedures related to the work performed; the ability to work with minimal direction and exercise sound judgement; proven public relations and communication skills to educate and deal proactively, tactfully, and firmly with the public; the ability to interpret and explain bylaws and regulations to the public and internal and external stakeholders and the ability to prepare a variety of reports and correspondences. The ideal candidates will have exceptional communication and leadership capabilities including experience providing guidance and support to a team.
The successful candidates have completed post‑secondary courses in law enforcement and have considerable related experience in investigation and enforcement work, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Successful candidates will be required to provide an acceptable driver’s abstract, a police information check, and copies of relevant credentials.

This position has a pay structure of five steps which increase annually.
