Job Description

Reporting to the Procurement Team Lead – Outsourcing Manufacturing, the Senior Buyer - Outsourcing Manufacturing will work with Divisional and Global Supply Chain teams and internal stakeholders to identify and implement optimal design, process and sourcing solutions.

Responsibilities Include:


· Supplier selection, negotiation, and order management (award, confirmation, reviews, approvals, etc.).

· Process purchasing documentation (i.e., Requisitions, Purchase Orders, Cancellation Forms, and non-conforming product) in accordance with ATS policies and procedures.

· Lead & participate in process improvement groups/teams in implementing cost improvements and execute optimal sourcing solutions that will enable growth and increase overall gross margin.

· Work to optimize components and product designs for performance, cost, standardization and manufacturability while working in consultation with Engineering.

· Collaborate cross-functionally to determine sub-assemblies to be outsourced and procured through strategic sourcing activities.

· Responsible for developing and controlling work instructions and procedures for the assembly and test of equipment.

· Use accepted Value Engineering / Value Analysis methods and tools to evaluate cost, measure, and implement process and product improvements.

· Benchmark alternate designs, providing cost estimates as required.

· Responsible for investigating assembly and manufacturing related problems and ensuring the problem is resolved.

· Responsible for setup, maintenance & ordering of bills of materials within the ERP system.

· Manage and track various ideas, projects, and programs from identification to implementation through an outsourced funnel.

· Provide cost estimates for process and product improvements.

· Support engineering standardization initiatives.

· Along with the Supplier Development Specialist, maintain ongoing supplier relationships and performance monitoring.

· Identify supplier performance risks to develop and implement mitigation strategies.

· Resolve invoicing discrepancies and approve for payment.

· Maintain favorable Terms and Conditions for ATS.

· Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the ATS Code of Business Conduct.

· Adhere to all health and safety rules and procedures.

Qualifications

Education:

· A post-secondary Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management or equivalent experience.

· A post-secondary Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent experience.

Experience:

· Minimum 5yrs of engineering experience in the manufacturing industry relating to equipment assembly, high volume parts manufacturing.

· Minimum 3yrs related experience in Supply Chain Management.

· Demonstrated problem solving and continuous improvement skills.

· Broad background and understanding of manufacturing technologies (Assembly, Machining, Fabrication, Welding, and Paint) and / or electronic components.

· Working knowledge of AutoCAD and SolidWorks.

· The ability to interpret engineering drawings is a requirement for this position.

· Knowledge of ERP systems is an asset.

· Advanced knowledge of MS Office software including Excel - pivot tables & VLOOKUP + Power Point – presentations.

· Proven organizational and negotiation skills.

· Proven data driven decision making.

· Ability to work effectively in a team environment with other departments according to deadlines.

· Excellent oral, interpersonal, and written communication skills.

· Demonstrated ability to contribute in a cross functional team.
