Job summary

Teifi Digital is seeking an experienced Functional Manager to lead our Engineering Team. You will blend technical excellence with people leadership, mentoring engineers and standardizing best practices while contributing to hands-on development of Teifi Bridge, Teifi Parts, and related private apps.

You will drive backend development, shape architecture, and help define long-term craft direction, with 25–50% hands-on work on internal products and potential IP opportunities for productization.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend/full‑stack development with architectural leadership.
• Experience with Shopify Theme/App development (Node.js, React, TS).
• Proficiency in React ecosystems and modern frontends (Remix, Hydrogen).
• Strong CI/CD, Git workflows, and performance optimization.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a backend team across Canada.
• Coordinate sprint planning, standups, and backlog grooming.
• Oversee architecture decisions and code quality for complex integrations.
• Drive delivery, collaboration with frontend teams, and IP/product incubation.
