Job summary

Groupe Dynamite is seeking a Senior Software Engineer I to join the Digital Development group in Montreal. You will lead feature development and mentor junior engineers while shaping architecture for mission-critical services powering GARAGE and DYNAMITE apps.

You will collaborate with E-Commerce Product teams, work across Node.js, .NET, React Native, and Salesforce Commerce Cloud, and leverage Google Cloud Platform to deliver scalable backend services for millions of customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Technology.
• 5+ years of software development experience in Agile product teams, ideally serving a LARGE customer base.
• 5+ years of experience extending software applications using .NET Framework or Java.
• 4+ years of experience building integrations using RESTful APIs.
• Expertise in .NET and Node.js/TypeScript with production cloud deployments (GCP, AWS, or Azure).
• Deep understanding of distributed-system patterns, API versioning, and data modeling.
• Track record of improving team velocity and code quality through reviews and tooling.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Familiarity with modern development processes, accelerated by AI-driven tools.

Responsibilities

• Work within an Agile team to build new features and maintain existing functionalities using Node.js, .NET Framework, React Native, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, and Google Cloud Platform.
• Improve the BFF layer using NestJS and GraphQL for use cases across ecommerce backends.
• Create automated tests as living documentation of requirements and prevent regressions.
• Contribute to Confluence documenting ongoing changes.
• Lead on developing future state architecture to automate steps and improve access for business users.
• Coach engineers; participate in PR reviews and knowledge-sharing sessions.
• Own end-to-end delivery of complex epics from design to production monitoring.
• Drive improvements to scalability, resiliency, and observability of backend services.
• Collaborate with Product, QA, and UX to refine requirements and estimate scope.
• Champion engineering best practices (coding standards, security, testing, DevOps).
• Leverage AI-driven tools in development, reviews, and debugging.

Job Summary:

As a member of Digital Development, you will work closely with the E-Commerce Product teams and be responsible for developing backend systems that power a modern E-commerce mobile app ecosystem. As an experienced Senior Engineer I, you will lead feature development, mentor junior engineers, and influence architecture for mission-critical services serving millions of customers across GARAGE and DYNAMITE apps.

Responsibilities:

• Work collaboratively within an Agile team to build out new features and maintain existing functionalities using Node.js, .NET Framework, React Native, Salesforce Commerce Cloud (OCAPI and SCAPI), and Google Cloud Platform (Cloud Run functions and Firebase);


• Improve our BFF (backend for frontend) layer using NestJS and GraphQL to enable use cases across disparate E-commerce backend systems;


• Create automated tests as living documentation of business requirements and hedge against future regressions;


• Regularly contribute to the team’s Confluence space to document ongoing changes;


• Take the lead on developing the future state architecture to automate more steps, reduce friction points, and elevate access and control for business users;


• Contribute to a culture of growth through PR reviews, pair programming, brainstorming, and knowledge-sharing sessions;


• Own the solution, following up on post-release monitoring and identifying areas of concern as well as reasons to celebrate;


• Communicate effectively with product owners, developers, and QA resources to align on and elevate processes;


• Own end-to-end delivery of complex epics—from technical design through production monitoring;


• Drive improvements to scalability, resiliency, and observability of backend services;


• Facilitate design reviews, pair programming, and knowledge-sharing sessions;


• Coach and mentor Engineers I/II/III; provide actionable feedback;


• Collaborate with Product, QA, and UX to refine requirements and estimate scope;


• Champion engineering best practices (coding standards, security, testing, DevOps);


• Leverage AI-driven tools heavily in day-to-day development, demonstrating both familiarity and a passion for using AI to deliver value from code development, reviews, debugging, etc.
