Superhuman is hiring a back-end engineer for its Mail team. The role focuses on building and operating production services for AI-driven workflows with real-time infrastructure, calendar syncing, and APIs used across desktop, web, and mobile.

The tech stack includes Go, Postgres, Kubernetes, and AWS. The ideal candidate will bring at least five years of back-end experience, strong fundamentals in algorithms and system design, and familiarity with cloud platforms and real-time architectures.

Qualifications

• Back-end development experience with strong fundamentals in algorithms and data structures.
• Experience building and debugging production systems at scale.
• Proficiency with AWS or other cloud platforms.
• Familiarity with AI-powered systems is a plus.
• Experience with real-time, event-driven architectures or high-throughput API design is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate production services for AI agent orchestration and real-time data pipelines.
• Design platform services including schedulers, session history, and APIs.
• Develop infrastructure as code to support reliable operations.
• Collaborate with ML/AI, Product, and Front-End engineers on AI-powered features.
• Contribute to engineering practices for documentation, testing, and reliability.
