Overview
Reddit is a community of communities. We’re seeking a talented backend focused software engineer with strong data skills to join our Ads Signals team, a group of engineers dedicated to growing the quantity and quality of off-platform conversion signals while prioritizing user privacy. The ideal candidate would help guide the team’s direction on projects such as Signals Quality and Signals Anomaly Detection and contribute to evolving our data pipeline and backend systems.
Responsibilities
- Independently identify opportunities based on our data and drive the evolution of products to improve the quality of our conversion data.
- Lead the development of advertiser-facing products with frontend and backend engineers to improve both the quality and quantity of our conversions data using cutting-edge technologies.
- Be a thought partner to leadership and XFNs, contributing to key projects such as signals quality and signals anomaly detection.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners, including product managers, designers, and other engineers, to deliver high-quality solutions that meet stakeholders\' needs.
- Take ownership of your work from concept to delivery, ensuring solutions are scalable, reliable, and meet high standards of quality and performance.
- Continuously learn and grow with the team, staying up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in software development.

What We\'re Looking For
- A Bachelor\'s degree or higher in a quantitative or computer science-related field (e.g., mathematics, statistics, economics, finance, computer science)
- Years of full-time backend and data-focused software engineering experience in a highly scalable computing environment
- Experience working with data is a MUST, including the ability to independently perform data analysis, build scoring models, and understand how data is used by downstream teams
- Experience in software development with a passion for learning and adapting to new technologies
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders independently
- A commitment to delivering high-quality solutions that meet users\' needs while prioritizing privacy and security
Nice to Have
- Prior experience in both software engineering and data science or related data analytics roles
- Prior experience in the Ads or Signals space with understanding of related challenges and opportunities
- Experience with agile development methodologies and version control systems like Git
- Mentorship and knowledge-sharing mindset, with a desire to help others grow
