Job summary

Fullscript is seeking an experienced software engineer to own the IAM backend, focusing on reliability, security, and scalable access control. You will work closely with product, security, and legal teams to craft robust authentication workflows and protect user data.

You will collaborate with a small pod of developers and leverage Ruby on Rails, GraphQL, and Apollo to implement secure identity features across the platform.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Experience with authentication protocols, SSO (SAML, OAuth), RBAC, and MFA.
• Proficiency with Ruby on Rails, GraphQL, and Apollo.
• Strong problem-solving and security-minded approach.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with your pod to build and maintain IAM capabilities.
• Contribute to backend code with focus on reliability, scalability, and security.
• Participate in technical design discussions and break projects into actionable tasks.
• Identify and suggest improvements to authentication and authorization flows.
• Support maintenance and uptime of IAM systems, including production issue resolution.
• Coordinate with product, security, and legal to ensure data access integrity.

What you’ll do:

• Collaborate with your pod — a small, focused team of developers — to build and maintain IAM capabilities


• Contribute to the backend codebase with an eye toward reliability, scalability, and security


• Participate in technical design discussions and help break down projects into clear, actionable tasks


• Identify and suggest improvements to our authentication and authorization flows


• Help support the maintenance and uptime of IAM systems, including investigating and resolving production issues


• Work closely with product, security, and legal stakeholders to ensure compliance and integrity of user data and access


• Stay informed on evolving security practices, frameworks, and technologies

What you bring to the table:

• A collaborative mindset and a willingness to share knowledge and ideas with teammates


• Passion for IAM and security — you care about protecting users and understanding the threat landscape


• Experience with authentication protocols, SSO (SAML, OAuth), RBAC, and MFA


• 5+ years of professional software development experience


• Hands-on experience with modern web development — we use Ruby on Rails, GraphQL, and Apollo


• A commitment to writing clean, maintainable code and fostering strong engineering practices
