Job summary

A technology services company is seeking a Senior AWS Data Engineer / Architect for a contract role to migrate an on-premises data warehouse to a modern AWS-based architecture. This fully remote position requires expertise in AWS tools, CI/CD deployment, and data pipeline design. Ideal candidates will have strong SQL and Python skills and experience with AWS technologies. The assignment is for 6 months full-time or 12 months part-time, starting January 2026.

Qualifications

• Capability to architect highly scalable distributed systems using AWS tools.
• Demonstrated experience with agile or other rapid application development methods.
• Extensive knowledge in SQL and scripting languages such as Python.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with IT and Data Management team to design a CI/CD deployment system for AWS data lake account.
• Develop optimal patterns for monitoring, notifications, and security, including monitoring dashboards.
• Ensure security and data access best practices (IAM roles, encryption, Lake Formation).

Skills

Capability to architect highly scalable distributed systems using AWS tools

Demonstrated experience with agile or other rapid application development methods

Familiarity with DevOps best practices

Extensive knowledge in SQL and scripting languages such as Python

Experience using AWS technologies including S3, Redshift, AWS Glue, CloudFormation, CloudWatch

Experience with integration of data from multiple data sources and multiple styles of APIs

Experience working with SQL databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, Redshift
