Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Senior Automotive Software Engineer to join a remote-first engineering team. The role focuses on designing and implementing software for autonomous driving, infotainment, and vehicle connectivity using C/C++ and Python.

You will work with an international team, contribute to RTOS-based embedded systems, and mentor junior engineers in a fully remote environment, with a strong emphasis on code quality and system reliability.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of embedded software experience in automotive.
• Strong C/C++ and Python proficiency.
• Deep understanding of automotive software architectures, CAN/Ethernet, and AUTOSAR.
• Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test software for automotive embedded systems including RTOS.
• Architect scalable software for ADAS, infotainment, and connectivity.
• Write clean, well-documented C/C++ and Python code.
• Define software requirements with cross-functional teams.
• Implement and optimize algorithms for automotive applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test robust software for automotive embedded systems, including real-time operating systems (RTOS).
• Architect scalable and maintainable software solutions for advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), infotainment, and connectivity platforms.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code in languages such as C/C++ and Python.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, systems engineers, and product managers, to define software requirements.
• Implement and optimize algorithms for complex automotive applications, ensuring performance and reliability.
• Conduct code reviews, participate in design discussions, and mentor junior engineers in a remote environment .

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional experience in embedded software development for the automotive industry.
• Strong proficiency in C/C++ and experience with Python scripting.
• Deep understanding of automotive software architectures , communication protocols (e.g., CAN, Ethernet), and AUTOSAR.
• Experience with software development tools, version control systems (e.g., Git), and CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills.
