You will be exposed to a wide range of businesses both internally and externally, then leveraging Scotiabank’s strong technology base, build and develop on strategic, forward-looking infrastructure.
Collaborate with product owner, business analysts and developers to understand user stories and acceptance criteria
Create comprehensive test plans based on business /technology requirements and project /program scope and provide the associated time and resource estimates
Socialize and review test plans with technology, business and operational stakeholders across the program
Write detailed test cases, test scenarios, and feature files covering functional, regression, integration and end-to-end cases
Execute test cases manually to validate functionality and usability
Identify, document and prioritize defects using tools like Jira
Track testing progress, maintain defect log and report on test coverage, bug trends and release readiness
Write and maintain behaviour driven automated test scripts using tools like Cucumber and Citrus
Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing
Work closely with developers to debug and resolve issues quickly
Participate in code reviews and provide QA insights during planning stages
Advise and guide on when and how to perform different types of test automation
Actively seek new and innovative technologies that can contribute to the objectives of the organization
Coach and mentor other QAs to support career development and personal growth
Ability to come to office 3 days a week
Advanced level of expertise in manual and automated software testing or QA roles
Strong understanding of QA methodologies, tools and processes
Strong understanding of test automation best practices, such as test data management, test environment configuration, and assertion strategies.
Solid experience with BDD frameworks (e.g. Cucumber, , Citrus, Cypress, etc.)
Experience with writing and maintaining Gherkin-based feature files
Experience with developing and organizing step definitions and reusable test hooks
Familiarity with version control, CI/CD pipelines, and bug tracking systems (e.g. Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Jira)
Ability to analyze requirements and translate them into automated test cases
Excellent debugging, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills.
Strong knowledge of API testing tools like Postman or REST Assured
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Proficiency in using Jira / Confluence/ MS Office
Payments Domain Knowledge is an asset
Experience working in Agile project methodology
Background in performance testing is an asset
