Job summary

Doane Grant Thornton in Whitby, Ontario, is seeking a Senior Accountant in Assurance (Audit) to lead audits, reviews and compilations while delivering top-tier client service.

The role requires CPA designation or near completion, 2+ years of public practice audit experience, and strong knowledge of audit, accounting and tax. A vehicle is preferred, with a hybrid in-office/work-from-home model across Canada.

Qualifications

• CPA designation or nearing completion.
• 2+ years public practice audit experience.
• Strong technical expertise in audit, accounting and tax.
• Experience leading teams on diverse engagements.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and execute audits, reviews, and compilations.
• Provide solutions to clients on current business and financial conditions.
• Plan fieldwork assignments including budget and resource needs.
• Work closely with clients and provide exceptional client service.
• Build our reputation as trusted business advisors in the growing practice.
• Prepare corporate and personal tax returns.
