Job summary

EY in Toronto is seeking an Assurance Senior Staff Accountant to join our Private Client Services practice, delivering quality assurance services to private company clients with the support of our technology and learning resources.

Ideal candidates hold an undergraduate degree in accounting with a Canadian CPA designation and 3–5 years’ experience in an accounting firm, and demonstrate strong communication and project management skills.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Accounting or related field.
• Enrolled and pursuing, or having obtained Canadian CPA designation is mandatory.
• Minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in an accounting firm.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain productive working relationships with client personnel and establish expectations of value to be delivered.
• Participate in performing audit procedures, focusing on complex or specialized issues.
• Review of corporate tax returns; identify and propose solutions to corporate tax issues.
• Collaborate to plan engagement objectives and an audit strategy compliant with professional standards.
• Understand the client’s industry and recognize key performance drivers and trends.
