We are currently hiring a Senior Associate Manager, Health and Safety based in our Burnaby Head Office.

Please note that this is a hybrid role based out of our Burnaby, BC office (2 Remote / 3 On Site). Applicants who are not located within commuting distance of our Head Office or are not looking to relocate to the Greater Vancouver/Lower Mainland/Fraser Valley region will not be considered.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of Health & Safety programs, ensuring regulatory compliance and alignment with BCAA’s strategic goals.

  • Inform, educate and promote safety awareness among team members and seek out training programs that foster wellness and a culture of safety.

  • Investigate incidents, report findings, develop recommendations, and implement corrective actions.

  • Monitor injuries, illnesses, and incidents; analyze trends; develop strategic and practical solutions for improvement.

  • Oversee inspections, audits, statistical reporting, and documentation for workplace health and safety.

  • Support wellness initiatives that contribute to illness and injury prevention.

  • Serve on Crisis Management Team initiatives and support emergency preparedness.

  • Lead investigations and safe work procedures in automotive operations, and ensure the effective operation of the ServiceNow Health & Safety system.

  • Oversee H&S committees, contractors, third-party vendors along with supporting WCB partnership and crisis management initiatives.

What You Bring
  • Minimum 3-5 years OH&S experience, along with an OH&S or Human Resources diploma/degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Deep understanding of current corporate health & safety strategies and best practices.

  • Skilled at conflict resolution and experience working with diverse teams with varying needs.

  • A valid BC Driver’s License with a clean driver abstract and access to a vehicle.

  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office and Sharepoint.

  • Bonus Qualifications:

  • Level 2 First Aid (or willing to obtain within 3 months).

  • CRSP Canadian Registered Safety Professional Degree.

  • Work Safe BC (WSBC) Joint Health & Safety Committee Certificate.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $91,185.84 to $113,982.36 and is determined via job-related knowledge, skills, experience, certifications, market demand and internal equity. In addition to base salary and BCAA benefits, this position is eligible for a performance bonus target of 9%, with the opportunity to earn up to 15%.
