Job summary

PwC Canada’s Cybersecurity practice invites you to join as a Senior Associate, Cybersecurity – Cryptography, Post-Quantum Cryptography and Security in Vancouver. You will drive cryptography, PQC readiness, IAM, data protection, and security engineering across client engagements.

You'll work with cross-functional teams, develop security solutions, and contribute to thought leadership while advancing your career within a global professional services firm.

Qualifications

  • Experience in cybersecurity, cryptography, IAM, cloud security, security engineering, infrastructure security, or technology consulting.
  • Knowledge of cryptography, PKI, certificates, key management, secrets management, PQC concepts, crypto-agility, and related security controls.
  • Familiarity with NIST, OSFI B-13, PCI DSS, ISO 27001, CIS Controls, and related technology risk requirements.
  • Hands-on experience with Python, shell scripting, Terraform, DevOps tools, CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, infrastructure-as-code, and cloud platforms.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, communication, stakeholder management, teamwork, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.
  • This role does not require professional engineering licensure; security clearance is mandatory.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver cybersecurity engagements across cryptography, PQC readiness, IAM, secrets management, data protection, AI security, and security engineering.
  • Assess client environments to identify security gaps, cryptographic risks, identity issues, secrets exposure, data protection needs, and improvement opportunities.
  • Support cryptographic inventories, risk prioritization, control mapping, crypto-agility planning, and transition roadmaps aligned to business and regulatory priorities.
  • Design, configure, test, document, and support security solutions across PKI, key management, certificate management, IAM, DLP, cloud, automation, and DevOps environments.
  • Prepare client deliverables, communicate progress and risks, collaborate with stakeholders, and contribute to reusable assets, proposals, and thought leadership.

The Opportunity

  • Experience in cybersecurity, cryptography, IAM, cloud security, security engineering, infrastructure security, or technology consulting.
  • Knowledge of cryptography, PKI, certificates, key management, secrets management, PQC concepts, crypto-agility, and related security controls.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks and standards such as NIST, OSFI B-13, PCI DSS, ISO 27001, CIS Controls, and related technology risk requirements.
  • Hands-on experience with Python, shell scripting, Terraform, DevOps tools, CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, infrastructure-as-code, and cloud platforms.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, communication, stakeholder management, teamwork, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.
  • This role does not require professional engineering licensure and is not classified as a formal engineering position under provincial regulatory definitions. While individuals with a P.Eng designation are welcome to apply, the responsibilities of this role do not involve the practice of professional engineering as defined by applicable legislation.
  • As a requirement, a Security Clearance is mandatory for all staff who’ll be engaged on these assignments. Prior to applying, please review the Government of Canada website to ensure you meet the eligibility requirements to obtain this clearance. This’ll become a condition of your employment with PwC should you receive an offer from us.

The salary range for this position is $84,700 - $134,700. The posted salary range represents the expected hiring range for PwC locations in major city centres. Given our national recruiting approach, ranges may vary for positions in other locations. At PwC Canada, base salary is determined by your skills, experience, qualifications and work location. In addition to base salary, eligible employees may have opportunities to participate in variable incentive pay programs which are designed to reward individual and firm-wide achievements.
