Senior Associate, Audit and Accounting
Overview

Our client is a leading Accounting, Tax and Advisory firm with a strong regional and global reach. They are currently in search of a highly experienced Senior Associate to provide technical support on audit and review engagements and various other client service engagements.

Your new role

In this role you will be responsible for the planning and execution of fieldwork for audit and review engagements, including:

  • Completion of all planning documents, and the scheduling and leadership of the planning meeting.
  • In conjunction with the manager/partner, devise appropriate engagement program, including risk analysis, the calculation of materiality and appropriate procedures.
  • Customization of client correspondence where appropriate, including management representation letter, legal letters etc.
  • Obtain/maintain a strong understanding of clients’ business and respond promptly to and be proactive to anticipate client needs.
  • Prepare/review corporate tax returns and related checklists. Recognize additional tax filings as required.
  • Maintain knowledge of Canadian accounting standards and updates.
What you will need to succeed

To be considered for this position, you must have a minimum of 3 years of relevant public accounting or consulting experience. Working towards a CPA designation. Solid knowledge of accounting software including Caseware/Caseview; Tax Prep, MS Excel. You can work well under pressure, manage priorities, and meet deadlines. You will also have strong teamwork skills, trustworthy, accountable, proactive and a positive work attitude. In addition, you must have a strong understanding of business, accounting, management and practice development principles and proven people management, relationship building and leadership skills.
