Job summary

Architecture49, Winnipeg office, leads architectural design and construction drawing efforts for defence projects across Canada. The role involves managing a design team, coordinating multi-disciplinary work, and ensuring BIM compliance on complex programs, with travel to remote communities as needed.

Qualified candidates will be licensed in Manitoba or eligible, with 7+ years in similar roles and a security clearance or eligibility.

Qualifications

• Registered architect in Manitoba (MAA) or eligible to be registered.
• 7+ years of experience in a similar role.
• Canadian Reliability or Secret Security clearance, or eligibility to obtain.
• Familiarity with Provincial and National standards and codes.
• Knowledge of BIM principles & workflows, REVIT, AutoCAD, Microsoft 365, and Bluebeam.
• Experience with Visualization software and Adobe Creative Suite would be an asset.
• Experience or desire to work with Indigenous communities would be an asset.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team in producing architectural design solutions and construction drawings.
• Lead project meetings and coordinate all building disciplines on multi-disciplinary projects.
• Perform internal reviews and quality checks of the models and drawings to ensure BIM standards compliance.
• Research materials, products and technologies required for the design and incorporate into the details, specification and other documents.
• Manage a team of consultants.
• Client communication.
• Provide technical and administrative oversight to ensure that both the internal and external client needs are met and that the projects are delivered within cost, quality and schedule targets.
• Manage the financial aspect of the project including planning, scheduling, forecasting and staffing and working with accounting to achieve the desired results.
• Travel to remote First Nation communities and work sites.
