Job summary

Microchip Technology Inc. is seeking a Technical Staff Engineer – Applications to join our expanding Data Center Solutions team in Burnaby, Canada.

You’ll enable PCIe switch platforms for data-center and AI workloads, collaborating with hyperscale customers and OEMs on bring-up, validation, and production ramp. You’ll apply deep C/C++, UNIX/Linux driver skills, and firmware experience on RTOS to debug complex issues, develop reference designs, and deliver customer-ready solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering, with 12+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Strong collaboration across cross-functional, distributed teams.
• Working knowledge of PCI Express (PCIe).
• Deep experience debugging multi-threaded architectures; C/C++ proficiency.
• Driver development on UNIX and Windows; firmware on RTOS platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead customer platform enablement for PCIe switch products and data-center platforms.
• Define requirements with hyperscale AI and storage customers; drive delivery.
• Provide advanced platform-level debug and develop hardware guides, reference designs.
• Deliver training and mentor junior engineers; support design wins and ramp.
• Troubleshoot firmware and system-level issues with lab tools.
