lululemon Athletica is seeking a Senior Application Engineer to lead design and implementation of complex solutions across multiple business processes within Identity Governance. You will set standards, mentor teams, and align with stakeholders to drive scalable, maintainable systems.

The role supports hybrid work with onsite collaboration, and may require after-hours availability for critical incidents. Strong IAM experience and Java/SQL skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 6-10 years of experience delivering complex application integration solutions and leading enterprise implementation across teams.
• Proven experience driving application architecture and establishing configuration patterns across teams.
• Experience designing platform-specific coding solutions and automation strategies; strong scripting and extension development.
• Experience defining data mapping and transformation standards for cross-platform data flows.
• 6-10 years demonstrated engineering experience with IAM and Identity Governance platforms such as SailPoint IIQ/ISC and Entra ID.
• Proficient in Beanshell, Java, SQL, JDBC, REST API, Web Services; leveraging AI tools to improve code, deployment, testing, or operations.

The Identity Governance team at lululemon sits within Cybersecurity and is responsible for governing digital identities and access across our global enterprise. We ensure the right accounts have the right access to the right systems, applications, and data for the minimum time required, balancing strong security controls with a great user experience. The team designs, builds, and operates identity lifecycle management, access governance, and identity and access risk services, that support workforce, third‑party, and non‑human identities at scale. Through automation, policy enforcement, and continuous improvement, we reduce risk, support regulatory compliance, and enable secure business growth. Our work is foundational to protecting guest and employee data while enabling innovation across lululemon’s technology ecosystem.

core responsibilities

As a Senior Application Engineer, you will lead the design and implementation of complex application solutions spanning multiple business processes and system modules, establishing technical direction for the application domain including configuration standards, custom development patterns, and integration approaches while ensuring solutions meet scalability and performance requirements. You will make implementation decisions for application domain including configuration approaches, platform-specific code strategies, and optimization techniques, conduct high-impact reviews focusing on solution quality and long-term maintainability, and establish application engineering standards adopted across the domain. You will mentor application engineers at multiple levels providing guidance on advanced platform concepts and career development, partner with business stakeholders on application strategy and roadmap planning, and lead resolution of critical system issues and production incidents. This role may require availability outside of standard business hours, including on call support, based on business needs.

• Write exemplary configuration and platform-specific code demonstrating application engineering best practices in critical systems as technical reference for teams
• Establish and enforce configuration standards, platform-specific development patterns, and application engineering best practices across multiple teams in domain
• Conduct high-impact reviews focusing on solution quality, performance, and long-term maintainability of application systems
• Lead incident response for major system issues including coordination and post-mortem facilitation

qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience; Master’s degree beneficial
• 6-10 years of experience delivering complex application integration solutions and leading enterprise application implementation across teams, or equivalent
• Proven experience driving application architecture for a domain and establishing configuration patterns and standards across teams
• Experience designing sophisticated platform-specific coding solutions and automation strategies; track record of developing complex scripts and platform extensions addressing advanced requirements
• Demonstrated ability to design integration architecture using platform-native capabilities and established integration patterns; experience defining data mapping and transformation standards for complex cross-platform data flows
• 6 - 10 years demonstrated engineering experience with Identity Access Management and Identity Governance platforms such as SailPoint IIQ / Identity Service Cloud (ISC) and Entra ID
• Proficient in Beanshell, Java, SQL, JDBC, REST API, Web Services, and utilizing AI (Github Copilot, etc.) to improve - for example - application code, deployment methodologies, testing, role mining, operational support

compensation and benefits package

lululemon’s compensation offerings are grounded in a pay-for-performance philosophy that recognizes exceptional individual and teamperformance. Thetypical hiring range for this position is from $ 132,600 - 174,000 CAD annually; the base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards offering, permanent employees in this position may be eligible for our competitive annual bonus program, subject to program eligibility requirements.
