Senior Antenna Structure Engineer
ADGA Group is currently hiring a Senior Antenna Structure Engineer to join our Defence contract in support of the Strategic Radio Capability project during the Option Analysis and Definition phases as well as other related radio frequency communications systems activities on an as and when required basis.
Tasks
- Perform professional certifications such as stamping drawings under the Professional Engineers Act of the Province of Ontario or under a similarly appropriate act in the applicable jurisdiction.
- Review, analyze and provide recommendations on antenna structure system and sub‑system interface documentation.
- Review and evaluate antenna structure engineering details including plans, specifications, and related data to assess their adequacy and suitability.
- Recommend system‑level solutions for discrepancies, deficiencies, and changes to equipment and specifications related to antenna structure.
- Liaise with DND and stakeholder sub‑system engineering groups to ensure system integrity, performance, reliability, and maintainability.
- Provide antenna system integration analysis and evaluation services.
- Create planning and procurement support documentation such as technical data specifications, plans, and drawings standards and SOWs for miscellaneous interface and facility ancillary items.
- Review, analyze and provide recommendations relating to antenna system components and associated documentation.
- Provide technical expertise in antenna structure design technical and management reviews to monitor, advise and report on progress and potential problems.
- Conduct antenna system integration testing and evaluation.
- Manage antenna system test and evaluation plans and present the results to project staff and stakeholders.
- Analyze antenna system deficiencies and recommend cost‑effective solutions.
- Examine documentation produced by system contractors supporting DGIMPD projects and update them based on antenna structure requirements.
- Develop antenna system test plans for prototypes and full system tests.
- Conduct engineering and technical definition studies and options analysis of antenna structure systems.
- Design and test prototype electronics assemblies including the integration and customization of available IT hardware and software packages.
- Perform antenna towers engineering.
- Perform Radio Communications (VLF / LF / MF / HF / VHF / UHF / Ka / Ku / X) engineering.
- Perform microwave systems engineering.
- Perform any other work related to this category.
Qualifications
- Must have one of the following:
- An Engineering or Science degree from a recognized Canadian university, or a non‑Canadian Engineering or Science degree accredited by CICIC, WES, or the University of Toronto Comparative Education Services.
- A minimum of years of experience within the last 20 years as an Antenna Structure Engineer.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience within the last 10 years in writing Project Technical Documentation (e.g., Statement of Work, Statement of Requirements, technical specifications) for IM/IT projects valued $5 million or more.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience within the last 10 years in delivering projects with satellite antenna infrastructure components, demonstrated by performing at least two of the following:
- Analysis
- Design
- Implementation
Additional Information
- Able to obtain and maintain a Canadian Government NATO Secret clearance.
- Able to go on-site 5 days a week in Ottawa.
- Potential travel outside the NCR may be required.
- Length of contract 10 months.
