Job summary

Rodeo FX in Montreal is seeking a Senior Animation Artist for a temporary contract. You will deliver high-end, hyper-realistic performances for creatures and characters, collaborating with the Animation Lead and Supervisor to align with the artistic vision and production deadlines.

The right candidate has 10+ years in a VFX studio, strong Maya expertise, a solid grasp of body mechanics and facial animation, and excellent communication to drive shots through the pipeline.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience in a VFX studio environment.
• Strong proficiency in Maya; experience with other animation tools is a plus.
• Solid understanding of body mechanics, facial animation.
• Ability to animate from reference and build compelling acting performances.
• Must be based in province of Quebec, Canada and eligible to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Deliver polished animation work meeting creative intent and production specifications.
• Interpret creative direction and reference materials to build nuanced performances.
• Provide time estimates and communicate delays, collaborate with production to adjust priorities.
• Maintain naming conventions and technical requirements per pipeline standards.
• Participate actively in dailies and reviews, presenting work and responding to notes.
