Job summary

Astra-North Infoteck Inc. is seeking a Sr Software Engineer (Android) in Toronto to lead design and delivery of major Android features. You will mentor engineers, influence stack decisions, and collaborate with product management and design to meet customer needs.

You’ll work with Kotlin, Java, Coroutines, Flows, Jetpack Compose, and RESTful APIs, while embracing modern tooling and a strong security mindset to deliver high-quality user experiences.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Experience with Kotlin and Java, including Coroutines & Flows.
• Familiar with Jetpack Compose and declarative UI development.
• Experience consuming RESTful APIs.
• Knowledge of dependency injection and test-driven development for Android.
• Passion for shipping apps with exquisite UI and performance.
• Interest in security and protecting user data.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and delivery of significant portions of the Android app.
• Mentor and coach other engineers within the team and broader organization.
• Influence technology choices and best practices across the stack.
• Collaborate with product management and design to meet customer needs.
• Drive CI/CD processes and maintain production readiness of features.
