About Dr. Bill: Dr. Bill is an RBCx Ventures company that is working to take the pain out of medical billing and get doctors paid accurately. We are a high‑growth company that currently serves 3,000+ doctors across 3 provinces. You’ll join as an employee of RBC and get all the perks of working for a big company, but with a start‑up mindset and the agility to move quickly. Dr. Bill’s mobile development team is responsible for developing medical billing apps that are the primary means of interaction between us and our customers. Our mobile apps, with their speed and ease‑of‑use, are changing the way medical billing is done.
We are looking for an Android software developer to join our team. We want someone who is eager to make an impact on their peers, on the product, and on our customers. You will provide technical leadership and make contributions toward developing new features, improving reliability, and refining our software development processes.
You’ll have visibility into, and influence over, all parts of the technology stack, and enjoy a high degree of autonomy in your work.
Clear view of the product roadmap, the business’ long‑term vision, and the opportunity to constructively contribute to both.
Interact with product management and design, and be able to influence what solutions are chosen to meet customer needs.
Lead the planning, design, development, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of significant portions of the software that supports the chosen solutions.
Provide and receive feedback from your peers, and coach less experienced engineers both within the team and the broader organization.
Use modern tooling throughout, whether that’s something currently part of our stack, or something new that you assess needs to be added to reliably deliver the desired user experience. A snapshot of what’s currently in‑use: Kotlin and RxJava, Room persistence library and SQLite, and CI / CD: Docker, GitHub, GitHub Actions.
