What You Will Do :
  • Maintain and update internal WCSB bitumen production and supply forecasts through comprehensive research of both public and private producer data.
  • Reconcile and analyze third-party WCSB production and supply forecasts identifying and explaining variances in underlying assumptions.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of North American crude oil market forecasting tools and models.
  • Extract analyze and interpret market fundamentals data from third-party providers and develop dashboards or visualization tools for effective communication using automation and AI solutions (e.g. Copilot).
  • Deliver market fundamentals updates and insights to internal stakeholders supporting strategic planning and external communications with material for Board and Investor Relations processes.
  • Collaborate with the Market Fundamentals team to analyze long-term trends including the impact of energy transition scenarios and support business growth and market value assessments.
Who You Are :
  • Degree in Economics, Business, Computer Science or a related field.
  • 2-4 years of relevant oil and gas market fundamentals experience; experience with Oil Sands companies, bitumen projects, production technology and forecasts preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong critical thinking and business analytical skills.
  • Advanced Excel data analysis and mathematical skills for organizing and filtering large amounts of data.
  • Ability to manage large volumes of data and condense into meaningful format for diverse audiences including senior management.
  • Familiarity / Proficiency with Copilot or similar AI platforms.
  • This position requires a high degree of personal initiative and ability to prepare thorough volumetric analysis with minimal supervision.
  • Able to adapt to frequent shifts in priorities and schedules.
Preferred :
  • Midstream experience preferred.
  • Experience with a variety of energy-focused research & data services (e.g. S&P Global Wood Mackenzie) preferred.
  • Experience with finding and extracting data from public and private data / service providers.

Working Conditions: Office Environment.

Ability to multi-task and work with strict deadlines.

Limited travel may be required.
