Job summary

Lightspeed Commerce in Ontario is seeking a Senior Analyst, Internal Audit to lead complex audit fieldwork from planning to reporting. You will assess risks across financial, operational, and compliance areas and drive management's corrective actions to strengthen controls.

You should have CIA and/or CISA designations preferred, 3–5+ years in internal or related risk roles, and expertise with COSO, IIA standards, and audit software.

Qualifications

• Completed or in process of completing CIA and/or CISA designations (highly preferred).
• 3–5+ years of progressive internal audit, external audit, or risk/compliance experience, including at least two years in internal audit.
• Strong knowledge and practical application of COSO framework and IIA standards.
• Proven experience in leading/participating in complex audit engagements and performing robust risk assessments.
• Demonstrated ability to exercise professional judgment, analytical rigor, and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and experience with audit management software.
• Excellent written and spoken English, with strong presentation and communication skills.

• Participate in ad-hoc special projects, investigations, and strategic initiatives as requested by senior leadership or the Audit Committee.
• Stay abreast of emerging risks, industry trends, and regulatory changes impacting the business and the internal audit profession.

We’re looking for a Senior Analyst, Internal Audit to join our Finance team. You will support the best practices of our finance division to drive Internal Audit at Lightspeed.

As part of the Internal audit team, you will be the key executor within the Internal Audit function, responsible for leading complex audit fieldwork from start to finish. You will conduct deep-dive analysis across financial, operational, and compliance areas to proactively identify risks and critical control gaps. Beyond testing, you will draft definitive audit reports and drive the implementation of management's corrective actions. Your efforts directly contribute to the company’s control maturity and operational efficiency, with opportunities to shape the audit function through involvement in specialized compliance projects.

What you’ll be responsible for:

• Reporting to the Senior Manager, Internal Audit, you will lead and execute all phases of internal audit engagements (planning, fieldwork, reporting) across operational, financial, and compliance areas, ensuring adherence to professional standards (IIA) including performing associated risk assessments.

What you’ll be bringing to the team:

• Completed or in process of completing certain professional designations: CIA and / or CISA (highly preferred).
• 3-5+ years of progressive experience in internal audit, external audit, or a related risk management/compliance field, including at least two years in internal audit.
• Strong knowledge and practical application of COSO framework, and internal audit standards (IIA).
• Proven experience in leading/participating in complex audit engagements and performing robust risk assessments.
• Demonstrated ability to operate in situations requiring significant professional judgment, analytical rigor, and meticulous attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and experience with audit management software.
• Excellent written and spoken English, with strong presentation and communication skills.

Even better if you have, but not necessary:

• Experience with AuditBoard, NetSuite and/or Salesforce
• Extensive experience in a high-growth, publicly traded technology company.
• Excellent written and spoken French.
• Experience with data analytics tools in an audit context (e.g., ACL, IDEA, Alteryx).
• CPA, CFE, or other relevant professional certifications/degrees.

These considerations can cause your compensation to vary. We reasonably expect the total compensation for this position to be in the range of $95,000-$105,000/annually CAD.
