A leading financial services company in Southwestern Ontario is seeking an experienced Global Mobility Specialist to support international employee movement and compliance. Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree, CHRP or GMS designation, and at least 6 years of HR experience. This role supports the Director Global Mobility on enterprise-wide initiatives focused on international employee movement, tax and immigration compliance, and use of data analytics to inform mobility programs. Working closely with the Senior Consultant, Global Mobility delivers employee-centered solutions that align with our Mobility philosophy and Total Rewards strategy.
Collaborating with colleagues in Human Resources to ensure all matters related to ongoing management of the mobility program are completed with a focus on the Employee experience.
Consulting with internal stakeholders on short term international business travel, cross-border movement and temporary international remote work.
Managing the taxation of Employees on assignment globally to ensure payment of foreign taxes on a timely basis. Working with the company’s tax advisors and internal stakeholders to ensure that year-end tax filings and the tax equalization process are completed on time and accurately.
Managing the ongoing review of all international assignment-related allowances and ensuring any changes are communicated to HR Services and expatriate Employees.
Managing the reporting and monitoring of the cross border commuter and business traveler Employee population to ensure compliance with immigration and taxation regulations in various jurisdictions and working with external immigration and taxation vendor to ensure all requirements are met.
Managing third party vendor relationships and contracts, particularly our tax and immigration partners.
Actively staying abreast of changes in legislation that may impact compliance and mobility program elements, make recommendations for program changes.
Executing projects and initiatives that will assist with the advancement of the company’s global mobility practice.
Advancing data analytics practices for Global Mobility with a view to providing greater insights to stakeholders.
Advancing the use of digital technology and managing existing SharePoint sites used by assignees as well as HR and vendors.
A Bachelor’s degree plus CHRP or GMS designation, with 6-plus years’ experience working in Human Resources.
Experience dealing with matters related to management of expatriate and international hires.
Good knowledge of taxation and immigration principles as they relate to international movement of Employees.
Strong Analytical and problem solving skills.
Comfortable with ambiguity.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong Client focus, presentation skills.
Strong interpersonal skills including collaboration and organizational know-how.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Copilot.
Knowledge of Workday an asset.
