Job summary

A leading pension plan provider in Toronto seeks a support specialist for Enterprise IT applications. The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and knowledge of SQL and Windows systems. Qualifications

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Provide 2nd/3rd level support for Enterprise IT Applications
  • Implement, test and integrate new applications.
  • Perform routine system backups and upgrades.
  • Maintain documentation of applications alongside their dependencies
  • Investigate and diagnose system faults and errors.
  • Installing system updates and performing data backups
  • Running regular maintenance checks
  • Provide instructions and training to staff when necessary.
  • Monitor, record and respond to requests for support.
  • Resolve technical issues within defined SLA.
  • Analyze error trends aimed at reducing or minimizing down time.
  • Identify organizational need for new applications.
  • Support Enterprise Architects with technical specification for solutions as need arises.
  • Communicate messages regarding systems issues to users promptly.
  • Liaise with software suppliers to fulfil the requirements of the organization.
  • Schedule and run regular tests to enhance the current systems and applications.
  • Identify and develop functionality changes.
  • Undertake regular reviews of Application Landscape and propose recommendations on future state
Essential Must Have’s
  • At least 2 – 3 years’ providing support to Enterprise Wide IT Applications
  • Basic understanding of Programming Languages
  • Intermediate Application software Trouble Shooting Skills
  • Extensive and demonstrable experience with supporting Client and Server-Side Applications
  • Background in IT Operational Role
  • Knowledge of Windows Operating Systems, Databases and SQL
  • Periodic On Call support will be required as part of this role
