Job summary

Joseph Brant Hospital in Burlington, Ontario, seeks a Senior Analyst, Decision Support - Finance to develop, analyze, and present reports that inform strategic decisions. Required are 3+ years in a hospital decision-support setting, strong SQL, R/Python, and BI tools (Tableau/Power BI).

Qualifications

• Related undergraduate degree or diploma; Master’s degree considered an asset.
• Minimum 3 years experience in a decision support setting (hospital/health care) or relevant field.
• At least 2 years experience in SQL Data Query Language is required.
• Knowledge of statistical tools such as R, Python, SAS.
• Experience with BI tools and databases (Tableau/Power BI/Crystal Reports).
• EPIC Cogito certification is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Develop, produce, and analyze reports to support decision making, planning, impact/market share analysis, and proposals.
• Manage the maintenance, improvement, and presentation of program scorecards and dashboards, performance indicators and ad-hoc reports for various users.
• Extract, interpret, analyze and synthesize complex data sets to generate meaningful insights and actionable findings.
• Provide education and subject matter expertise to leadership teams and clinicians on data interpretation and use of decision support tools.
• Manage and ensure timely submission of external data and reports per deadlines.
• Stay informed of trends in healthcare BI, data analytics and information management.

• Extract, interpret, analyze and synthesize complex and diverse data sets to generate meaningful insights and actionable findings.
• Provide education and subject matter expertise to the leadership teams and clinicians on data interpretation, and effective use of decision support tools, and analytic applications.
• Manage and ensure the accurate and timely submission of external data, reports and required deliverables in accordance with established deadlines and reporting requirements.
• Stay informed of emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in healthcare, business intelligence, data analytics and information management.

Qualifications:

• Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative, and contribute effectively within multidisciplinary teams, supported by strong interpersonal skills and sound analytical and statistical capabilities.
• Related undergraduate degree or diploma; Master’s degree considered an asset (MBA/Health Information Management/Computer Science).
• Minimum 3 years experience in a decision support setting ( hospital/health care environment) or relevant field.
• At least 2 years previous experience in SQL Data Query Language is required.
• Knowledge of statistical tools, such as R, Python, SAS etc.
• Knowledge of databases and report writing tools/ business intelligence solutions like Tableau, PowerBI and Crystal Reports.
• Strong computer knowledge and skills with proficiency in decision support tools and applications, databases, designing and generating reports and knowledge of business intelligence tools.
• Essential experience with ATC/WTIS, CIHI acute and post-acute databases (DAD, NACRS, OMHRS, NRS, CCRS), MIS/OHRS, Meditech, EPIC, Integrated Decision Support (IDS) BI, Intellihealth Ontario is essential.
• EPIC Cogito certification is an asset.
• Experience with funding models (HBAM/GEM, QBPs, PCOP) is an asset.
• Proficiency in data analysis, interpretation and presentation using MS Office tools is essential;
• Project management abilities including excellent organization and time management skills to manage a demanding workload effectively in an environment of many conflicting and competing deadlines.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to establish and maintain strategic relationships and collaborative partnerships with diverse healthcare providers and stakeholders.
