A leading eCommerce company in Toronto seeks a Senior Analyst, Customer Insights & Business Analytics. Why is this role important?
As a Senior Analyst, Customer Insights & Business Analytics on the Strategy & Planning team, you’ll play a key role in driving insights on shaping how Shoppers Drug Mart (SDM) eCommerce and Digital Health connect with millions of customers. You’ll dive deep into large datasets to uncover actionable insights that drive smarter customer acquisition, stronger retention, and deeper engagement strategies.
As the analytics subject matter expert for our marketing and enterprise teams, you’ll own the development of forecasts, performance dashboards, and data-driven recommendations that inform key business decisions. You’ll explore customer purchase patterns, online behaviors, and campaign outcomes to tell the story behind the numbers and translate insights into strategic opportunities.
You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional partners across Loblaw Media, Digital Messaging, Business Intelligence, and Product Strategy, ensuring analytics and insights fuel the next generation of marketing and digital health growth. Your work will directly influence how we evolve our omnichannel experience and deliver meaningful health and retail solutions to Canadians.
Leverage your advanced analytics toolkit (SQL, Python/R, Snowplow Analytics) to uncover actionable insights and deliver strategic recommendations that shape marketing and product strategies driving acquisition and retention goals
Build reporting and forecasting to understand sales and marketing performance as well as on-site / in-app customer engagement to better drive traffic and conversion
Measure impact of marketing campaigns and promotional tactics that drive actionable insights and enhance targeting
Support cross-functional growth initiatives across personalization, marketing journey attribution, and loyalty voucher optimization, adapting to evolving priorities to support overall business objectives
Work with BI and Digital Implementation teams to improve data accuracy, accessibility, and automation
Build, implement and refine customer models (e.g., CLV, segmentation, migration) and embed key insights into marketing initiatives
Present and lead the creation of daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly reporting which includes but is not limited to traffic and customer analyses, post campaign reports and presentations
Present findings in a clear and concise manner while incorporating best practices in data visualization and story-telling
Completion of a Bachelor’s degree (BA, BCom, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering) or similar
2-5 years in a management consulting, analytics, E-Commerce, or high growth technology company with strong business acumen
Strong analytical skills with proficient experience in SQL and Excel
Demonstrated ability to manage priorities in a high capacity and deal with ambiguity, maintain focus while working on multiple complex projects independently
Exceptional organizational, problem solving, and critical thinking skills combined with the ability to synthesize and effectively communicate/storytell findings to all levels throughout the organization
Experience in web analytics tools such as Snowplow Analytics, Google Analytics or similar platforms is preferred
Experience in data visualization tools such as LookerML, Looker Studio or similar platforms is preferred
Knowledge of ETL processes & tools is an asset
Knowledge and experience utilizing additional data analysis tools (e.g., Python, R Studio) is an asset
