Job summary

Thumbtack is seeking a Software Engineer for AI/ML Infrastructure in Canada. You will work on core AI platform capabilities enabling GenAI-powered applications, collaborating with product and platform teams to design, develop, and deploy scalable tools and infrastructure.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years of software engineering experience with Go and/or Python, plus experience with Postgres or DynamoDB. This is a remote, full-time role with a competitive CAD salary range.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and software design.
• Proficiency in Go and/or Python; ability to work across multiple languages.
• Experience with relational or NoSQL databases (Postgres, DynamoDB).
• Experience using AI coding tools in daily workflows.
• Comfort with ambiguity and fast-paced environments; bias to action.

Responsibilities

• Build and evolve core AI platform capabilities.
• Design, develop, and deploy scalable tools and infrastructure for AI models.
• Work across backend services and integrations with AI tooling.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to evaluate new AI infrastructure frameworks.
