Job summary

Artefact is a leading data and AI consulting firm helping clients turn data into measurable business impact. We seek a Senior AI & Data Scientist to own models end-to-end, from problem framing to production, across forecasting, classification, clustering, and causal analysis.

You will build and fine-tune models, evaluate LLMs, develop data pipelines, create dashboards, and translate complex methodology into business language for clients.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of data science experience with strong quantitative skills.
• Proven ability to develop and deploy models.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL, with ML fundamentals.
• Hands-on experience with LLM evaluation, RAG, or fine-tuning.
• Experience with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure).
• Excellent communication to present to non-technical audiences.
• Master's degree or higher in a related field.

Responsibilities

• Translate business challenges into analytical use cases with clear hypotheses.
• Develop statistical and ML models: regression, forecasting, classification, clustering.
• Select techniques based on data, constraints, and context.
• Ship production-ready solutions: training, deployment, monitoring.
• Run fine-tuning experiments (SFT, LoRA/PEFT) and evaluate against baselines.
• Build evaluation suites for LLM systems and regression tests.
• Develop embeddings and retrieval pipelines as needed.
• Contribute to model selection decisions (prompting vs RAG vs fine-tuning).
• Create dashboards and data visualizations; present findings to clients.
• Mentor junior data scientists and leverage AI-assisted tools.
