Job summary

CBC/Radio-Canada is seeking a Senior Advisor to shape and drive national programs. You will partner with Corporate Development, engage senior executives, and liaise with external partners to advance CBC’s priorities.

The role blends strategic planning, budgeting, and cross‑functional leadership in a telework/hybrid environment. The candidate should bring 5–7 years in strategy or related fields, fluency in English and French, and a proven ability to translate complex information into actionable

Qualifications

  • 5–7 years in strategy development, relationship management, project management, journalism, marketing or public service media.
  • Fluent in English and French (reading, writing and speaking).
  • Experience liaising with third parties and external partners.
  • Ability to translate complex information into clear, actionable plans.
  • Excellent organizational, logistical and planning skills.
  • Ability to lead meetings (in-person and virtual) and set agendas.
  • Strong preparation and presentation of communications and decks.
  • Ability to negotiate with senior leaders.
  • Comfort with quantitative and qualitative research materials.
  • Comfortable with legal documents and budgets.
  • Understanding of the Canadian media landscape and CBC/Radio-Canada.

  • Monitor activities, trends and research related to key initiatives.
  • Explore new opportunities to advance key initiatives in line with media industry needs and Canadians.
  • Ensure tracking of daily activities and project progress for reporting and planning.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership in Corporate Development.
  • Build relationships with CBC/Radio-Canada senior executives and external partners.
  • Prepare and present relevant materials to the Corporate Development Team, Senior Executives, Board and stakeholders.
  • Represent CBC/Radio-Canada at meetings to advance public service priorities.
  • Manage the operating budget.

What you will do:

  • As required, prepare and present relevant materials to the Corporate Development Team, Senior Executive Team, Board of Directors, and other key internal stakeholders
  • As required, act as a representative of CBC/Radio-Canada to various meetings to advance the Corporation’s public service priorities
  • Manage the operating budget
We are looking for a candidate with the following:
  • 5–7 years of relevant experience in strategy development, relationship management, project management, journalism, marketing, and/or public service media
  • Full proficiency in English and French (reading, writing, and oral)
  • Experience in relationship management and liaising with third-parties
  • Ability to translate complex information into clear, actionable plans
  • Exceptional organizational, logistical, and planning skills
  • Ability to organize, set agendas, manage, and lead meetings (in-person and virtual settings)
  • Highly skilled in the preparation and presentation of communications and meeting materials (including information decks)
  • Ability to negotiate with and present to senior leaders
  • Comfortable working with quantitative and qualitative research materials
  • Comfortable working with legal documents
  • Comfortable working with budgets
  • Understanding of the Canadian media landscape and the unique position of CBC/Radio-Canada
  • High emotional intelligence and the ability to work independently and effectively across diverse components and departments
