The Opportunity

We are looking for a business-minded actuary to handle the pricing for different products . You are more than a pricing actuary, you understand the demands of an external partner, as well as the ins-and-outs of price modelling . You provide excellent actuarial advice and influence decisions using analysis and data. You thrive in a fast-moving environment where your opinion and experience are valued.

This position will also be responsible for providing statistical expertise , researching new pricing methods, and ensuring a smooth implementation of rating plans and algorithm changes across Canada. Additionally, you will be expected to provide actuarial expertise related to product design, corporate planning, and underwriting/segmentation analysis.

What you’ll do:
  • Own actuarial methods and assumptions for pricing.
  • Develop systems, processes, and methodologies for analyzing rates and products.
  • Collaborate with business partners to deliver pricing strategies and changes.
  • Mentor junior team members and act as a technical expert.
  • Ensure products meet the Product Development and Management Standard, and the Technical Pricing Standard.
  • Gain deep knowledge of your assigned book of business and Canadian market trends to provide strategic insights.
What you’ll bring:
  • Minimum 3 years of P&C experience.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to translate business needs into actuarial analysis (and vice versa).
  • Hands-on coding experience (Python preferred).
  • Exceptional analytical skills with a strong drive to explore, question, validate, and challenge assumptions to deliver accurate and meaningful insights.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask.
