A leading financial services company in Mississauga is seeking a Senior Actuarial Advisor to play a pivotal role in managing reinsurance activities and budget planning. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, at least six years of experience in property and casualty insurance, and strong communication skills in French and English. The Reinsurance and Budget, Corporate Actuarial Services team is seeking candidates for a senior actuarial advisor position in property and casualty insurance. Are you interested in playing an important role in mandates related to risk management, the reinsurance program and corporate financial and strategic planning? Are you a team player? Do you thrive when working with multiple teams across an organization—for example, underwriting, corporate strategy, performance monitoring and finance? You might be the ideal candidate for us! Join our team and you’ll play an influential leadership role when it comes to managing reinsurance activities and annual budget planning for Desjardins General Insurance Group. More specifically, you will be required to :
Conduct analyses to anticipate financial results, support strategic planning and manage the reinsurance program, among other things, for all relevant products and provinces, while ensuring the integrity of the data generated
Develop and maintain various models, analyze their results and produce reports required by the organization or the various regulators
Ensure that the needs of actuarial services are taken into account and met
Develop innovative solutions to improve the organization’s risk management practices
Contribute to continuous improvement activities in your team
Provide guidance and support to new team members
Represent actuarial services in committees and decision-making meetings

Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics or a related field
A minimum of six years of relevant property and casualty insurance experience
Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
Successfully completed at least six Casualty Actuarial Society exams, or the equivalent
Strong communication skills in both French and English, both oral and written due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with English-speaking partners, members and/or clients
Knowledge of property and casualty insurance, Microsoft Office suite, SAS, VBA, R, Python
