Job summary

AppDirect is looking for an experienced Senior Accounting Manager in Calgary, Canada, to lead acquisition integrations and ASC 805 purchase accounting, while owning the full close cycle and producing audited financial statements. You will manage three direct reports and collaborate with leadership, operations, and external auditors to ensure GAAP compliance.

The role requires 7+ years of accounting experience, CPA preferred, and NetSuite familiarity.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive accounting and/or finance experience.
• 4+ years managing direct reports in an accounting or finance function.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; CPA or equivalent strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated experience with acquisition integrations, purchase accounting, or financial consolidations (ASC 805).
• Experience with lease accounting is considered an asset.
• Proficiency with an ERP system (NetSuite experience is a plus).
• Clear, direct communication skills — you will regularly present financial information to leadership and cross-functional teams who may not have an accounting background.

Responsibilities

• Lead acquisition integrations and purchase accounting in accordance with ASC 805, working cross-functionally with finance and legal.
• Own the full monthly, quarterly, and year-end close cycle, ensuring accuracy and timeliness across all accounting entries and reconciliations.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including investor reporting where applicable.
• Maintain and continuously improve the general ledger system and financial record-keeping infrastructure.
• Manage and develop a team of three direct reports, setting clear expectations and supporting their professional growth.
• Partner with external auditors on the annual audit, serving as the primary internal point of contact.
• Research and resolve accounting issues to ensure ongoing compliance with GAAP.
