Job Summary

The Finance team is looking for a Senior Accounting Analyst responsible for assisting with the month-end and year-end close. The ideal candidate will be results-oriented, have a strong desire to learn and be curious, and strive for continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.

Main Responsibilities

Manage the month-end closing process, including inter-company balances and analysis of variances.
Maintain general ledger accounts by posting adjusting entries for ESOP, NCIB, RSU and DSU equity accounts as well as reconciling and posting IFRS 16 accounts.
Assist with analysis and reconciliation of payroll liabilities, prepaids, and fixed asset accounts.
Record forward contracts and MTM on forward contracts.
Work with the external auditors to ensure requests are addressed in a timely manner.
Monitor and record financial transactions according to company policies, providing guidance to other personnel.
Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
Assist in the testing of the weekly payment run.
Ensure the monthly internal controls for your allocated sections are documented and uploaded to Workiva.
Participate in the improvement and implementation of process improvement projects for accounting processes and internal control procedures.
Perform various ad-hoc assignments.

Qualifications

University degree in Accounting.
