Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct internal audits and coordinate with external auditors.
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
- Implement and maintain internal financial controls.
- Liaise with other departments to ensure accuracy of financial data.
- Provide insights and recommendations for financial improvements.
- Stay updated with industry trends and changes in accounting regulations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA (Chartered Professional Accountant) designation or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience in the oil and gas industry.
- Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards).
- Proficiency in financial software and advanced MS Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
- Legally eligible to work and reside in Canada.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in accounting or business administration.
- Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems.
- Knowledge of Canadian tax laws and regulations specific to the energy sector.
- Experience with managing finances in the Canadian energy sector
