Qualifications

• CPA designation or in final stages of completion (strongly preferred).
• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience in commercial real estate/property management.
• Strong understanding of lease accounting, rent rolls, and CAM/TMI reconciliations.
• Experience with investor reporting and real estate fund structures is an asset.
• Proficiency with Yardi, MRI, QuickBooks, or similar accounting systems.
• Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle accounting for multiple commercial real estate assets.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP/ASPE.
• Develop and manage property-level budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
• Perform bank reconciliations, manage AP/AR, and handle tenant billing.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations, including preparation and filing of HST/GST returns.
• Support year-end audits and liaise with external auditors.
• Manage investor reporting, including financial reports and distributions.
• Collaborate with property and asset managers.
• Identify and implement process improvements for reporting.
• Assist with ad hoc financial analysis and acquisitions.

Skills

CPA designation or in final stages of completion

5 years of accounting experience in commercial real estate/property management

Strong understanding of lease accounting and CAM/TMI reconciliations

Experience with investor reporting

Proficiency with Yardi, MRI, QuickBooks
