Description

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and highly communicative Senior Accountant to join their team. In this role, you will work closely with co-op students, junior accountants, and client leads to ensure accounting projects run smoothly from start to finish. You will play a key role in supporting core accounting functions, troubleshooting issues as they arise, and providing thoughtful analysis and insights to management.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Manage and prioritize internal and external correspondence, ensuring timely and professional responses
  • Contribute to monthly, quarterly, and year‑end financial close activities
  • Provide support for accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger functions
  • Assist in budget preparation, financial forecasting, and cash flow analysis
  • Conduct research on accounting and tax matters and prepare supporting materials for management review and presentations
  • Analyze financial variances and prepare reports using NetSuite
  • Document, distribute, and track meeting minutes, including follow‑up on assigned action items
  • Collaborate with and support junior team members and co‑op students through guidance and mentorship
  • Support ad hoc initiatives and contribute to ongoing process improvements
What You Must Have
  • Exceptional communication skills with a high level of professionalism
  • Strong accounting and financial reporting background
  • CPA designation or near completion
  • Experience working with small to mid‑sized private companies (up to 100 employees)
  • Public practice experience
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage tight deadlines and work under pressure
  • Positive, collaborative attitude and a willingness to learn
  • Openness to feedback and constructive criticism
  • Strong technical aptitude, including advanced Excel skills and comfort with accounting systems
