Limelight is a fast‑growing B2B SaaS company helping organizations streamline planning, reporting, and financial processes. We are scaling quickly and are looking for a highly skilled and self‑directed Senior Accountant with strong financial analysis capabilities to support our finance operations, ensure accurate reporting, and help drive data‑driven decision making.

Role Overview

The Senior Accountant will own core accounting operations including invoicing, revenue recognition, A/R, A/P, payroll support, monthly close, and statutory filings (HST/GST). In addition, this role requires strong financial analysis skills, including the ability to generate SaaS KPIs, analyze trends, and support management with timely insights. You will play a critical role in maintaining clean financials, ensuring accurate billing for annual and multi‑year SaaS contracts, and providing clear reporting to leadership.

Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Operations
  • Manage full‑cycle accounting including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and monthly/quarterly/year‑end close.
  • Prepare and issue invoices, including new subscriptions, renewals, multi‑year contracts, and additional license purchases.
  • Maintain accurate A/R aging, collections follow‑up, and cash‑application processes.
  • Oversee A/P, vendor payments, and expense reimbursements.
  • Ensure compliance with HST/GST filings, payroll remittances, and other statutory requirements.
  • Support payroll processing (working with internal systems).
  • Assist with external audits, year‑end financial reporting, and supporting schedules.
SaaS Revenue & Billing
  • Maintain accurate customer records including contract terms, billing schedules, renewals, and churn tracking.
  • Work with sales/CS teams to validate contract data and ensure correct pricing, amounts, and license counts.
  • Verify revenue schedules (annual, 2‑year, 3‑year terms) and ensure correct revenue recognition.
  • Prepare renewal invoices and communicate billing‑related items with customers as needed.
Financial Reporting
  • Prepare monthly financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow).
  • Build and maintain dashboards/reports for leadership.
  • Track and analyze SaaS financial KPIs
Qualifications
  • 4–7+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in SaaS or recurring‑revenue businesses.
  • Strong understanding of SaaS accounting principles, including ARR, deferred revenue, and contract terms.
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online.
  • Advanced skills in Excel/Sheets and financial analysis.
  • Ability to interpret contracts and translate them into billing and revenue schedules.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • CPA designation or working towards one is a plus
