Our client is looking to add two Senior Staff Accountants with audit experience to their growing public accounting firm.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Senior Accountant with audit experience to join our growing public accounting team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing assurance and accounting engagements, preparing financial statements, reviewing working papers, and providing advisory support to clients across various industries.

About the Opportunity
  • Lead and execute audit, review, and compilation engagements in accordance with professional standards.
  • Prepare and review working papers, financial statements, and notes under ASPE.
  • Supervise and review the work of junior staff, providing coaching and feedback.
  • Perform risk assessments, identify control deficiencies, and recommend practical improvements for clients.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of engagement timelines and budgets.
  • Support clients with accounting and financial reporting matters, including year‑end adjustments.
  • Collaborate with tax teams to ensure the accuracy of financial and tax reporting.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and provide responsive, value-added service.
  • Stay up to date with professional and regulatory standards (CPA Canada, CSRS, CAS).
  • Collaborate with peers and senior management on file planning and completion, ensuring that tasks are completed within set time constraints.
  • Provide personalized and attentive service to clients, fostering productive working relationships and identifying further opportunities for service improvement. Work closely with partners in managing daily practice operations and ensuring client satisfaction.
About You
  • CPA designation (or in the final stages of completion) required.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 5-6 years of experience in a public accounting firm, with hands‑on exposure to audit and assurance engagements.
  • Sound knowledge of ASPE, CAS, and related assurance standards.
  • Proficiency with accounting software such as CaseWare, CaseView, and Taxprep (or similar).
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time‑management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a client‑service mindset.
Salary

$75,000 / Year
