Job summary

RHN CPA invites applications for a Senior Accountant to join a BC-based firm with 70 years of service. You will work on compilations, reviews, audits, and tax engagements while building lasting client relationships and contributing to staff development.

The role emphasizes flexibility in work schedules, comprehensive benefits after probation, and opportunities for professional growth. Candidates with IFRS knowledge are welcome.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years relevant public practice experience.
• Experience with NPO audits and fund accounting is an asset.
• Sound knowledge of ASPE/ASNPO and CAS.

Responsibilities

• Preparing compilations, reviews, and audit engagements both individually and in a team setting.
• Preparing Canadian corporate income tax returns, personal and trust income tax returns.
• Maintaining positive relationships with clients and colleagues; meeting deadlines.
• Participating in in-house training sessions and professional development initiatives.

• Salary range: $70,000-$90,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

What you will do:

As a Senior Accountant, you will complete a variety of different engagements assigned to you, continuing to diversify your experience and skill sets, and actively contribute to the firm's continued growth through timely service and communication to clients.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing compilations, reviews, and audit engagements both individually and in a team setting


• Preparing Canadian corporate income tax returns, personal and trust income tax returns


• Building and maintaing positive relationships with clients and colleagues


• Working with a time budget for all files, monitoring your time in the budget and meeting deadlines


• Participating in and contributing to in-house training sessions as well as professional development initiatives.

What You'll Bring:

• 3-5 years relevant public practice experience


• Experience with NPO audits and fund accounting for a diverse group of clients is considered an asset


• Sound knowledge of Accounting (ASPE and ASNPO) and CAS


• Good understanding of materiality, risk assesment and variance analysis


• Experience with CaseWare/CaseView, TaxPrep and Microsoft Office Suite


• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills


• A proven commitment to outstanding client service


• The ability to work cohesively in a team


• Strong problem-solving abilities and productivity in situations where direct supervision may be conducted remotely or at a minimum level


• Experience with International Financial Reporting Standards is considered an asset.
