Job Skills / Requirements

We are looking for a driven individual to join our Finance team and be a key member of our Financial Reporting department. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of managing multiple tasks in a busy work environment, proficiency working with ERP software and a willingness to learn. We are looking for someone with a positive can-do attitude who takes pride in their work and is looking to grow their career with one of Canada’s best managed companies!

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the close off process and prepare monthly consolidated financial statements and related schedules and notes
  • Conduct variance analysis of actual performance against budget and forecast
  • Liaise between finance and non-finance teams to support data collection, cross company initiatives, infrastructure development and process improvements
  • Support accounting research to provide recommendations, ensuring the Company complies with all areas of ASPE and in accordance with established Paladin policies and procedures
  • Liaise with external auditors to provide them with the necessary information for the annual audit
  • Ensure appropriate systems and controls are implemented and maintained, and lead on any system implementation impacting financial systems
  • Provide mentorship and supervise accounting staff
  • Identify, evaluate, and implement technology-driven solutions that optimize workflows, reduce costs, and increase productivity across departments
  • Assist with ad-hoc projects and other duties as required
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 4 years progressive work experience in accounting
  • Proven track record in supporting the production of financial statements compliant with ASPE
  • CPA professional accounting designation is an asset
  • Track record of managing deliverables from multiple parties to meet challenging deadlines
  • Collaborative approach to leading an accounting team in finding creative solutions to daily issues
  • Demonstrated ability in leading teams to manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and month-end close processes
