Job Summary

The Senior Accountant will oversee key areas of general accounting, including account reconciliations, tax compliance reporting, consolidation, month-end close, and general ledger maintenance. In this dynamic role, they will also lead the preparation of timely and accurate management and operational financial reports, while contributing to special projects and supporting broader financial operations across the organization.

About the Role / Key Accountabilities
  • Preparation of working papers to support month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes.
  • Responsible for full cycle accounting duties, including but not limited to recording journal entries, reconciling key accounts, financial statement preparation and analysis, audit preparation with external and internal auditors, etc.
  • Preparing HST returns and coordinating remittance payments for WSIB and corporate taxes.
  • Reviewing and recording expense reports in the general ledger and resolving discrepancies.
  • Develop strong, collaborative connections with cross-functional teams.
  • Ad-hoc administrative duties including filing, and handling customer/vendor inquiries.
Position Requirements
  • Ability to work with and manage confidential information and use independent judgment.
  • CPA designation or in pursuit of such designation.
  • 2+ years of experience working in a similar role.
  • Previous experience in supply chain logistics environment or has worked in an accounting firm preferred.
