Job summary

A leading semiconductor company in Alberta is seeking an Equipment Assistant Engineer to perform product setups and troubleshoot equipment issues. The ideal candidate has a diploma and at least 2 years of hands-on experience in a semiconductor manufacturing environment. Strong technical knowledge of ATEs and proficiency in MS Office are essential. This is a permanent position working on rotating shifts.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Diploma with at least 2 years of hands-on experience in semiconductor manufacturing environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of ATEs, peripheral tools, and their operational aspects.
  • Able to work in rotating shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Perform product setup for testers, handlers, and other equipment.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and ensure low machine downtime.
  • Perform setup conversion and scheduled maintenance/calibration.
  • Create and update equipment status on time.
  • Make recommendations to improve process and equipment efficiency.

Skills

Hands-on experience in semiconductor manufacturing

Key Responsibilities
  • To perform product set up for both testers, handlers, probers, and other equipment
  • To troubleshoot equipment issues (handler/prober/tester) and ensure low machine down time
  • To perform setup conversion, periodic maintenance/calibration
  • Work with respective department for equipment installation/deinstallation and buyoff
  • Create and update equipment and hardware status on time
  • To perform equipment and hardware preventive maintenance as scheduled
  • Liaise with various department to resolve machine or probe card issue
  • To make recommendations to improve process and equipment efficiency
  • Prepare and present daily shift report
Job Specification
  • Min Diploma with at least 2 years hands‑on experience in semicon manufacturing environment
  • Strong technical knowledge in ATEs, peripheral tools and their operational aspects (UFlex, 93K tester, Tri‑temp Probers and auto‑Handlers)
  • Able to use MS office
  • Basic knowledge in ESD controls, 8D
  • Able to work in rotating shift
