About the Role

The Self Checkout Attendant is responsible for guiding customers through the self-checkout process while ensuring efficiency, safety, and customer satisfaction. You’ll monitor transactions, provide assistance when needed, and promote Walmart’s programs and initiatives to shoppers.

This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with people, have great attention to detail, and thrive in a fast-paced environment where customer service is the top priority.

Responsibilities
  • Keep the self-checkout area clean, safe, and organized.
  • Assist customers with the correct use of self-service checkout systems.
  • Promote company-sponsored programs such as credit card services, product protection, and charity initiatives.
  • Monitor customer activity and provide assistance or reassurance when interventions are required.
  • Respond to EAS alarms and complete the “Failure to Deactivate” log when needed.
  • Notify the Customer Service Manager of technical issues or cash shortages in self-checkout areas.
  • Return Scan & Go scanners to their docking stations after customer use.
