Job summary

Blackbird Tech Solutions, the technology outlet of Blackbird Security, seeks a Security Systems Technician to install CCTV, access control, and networked security systems in Metro Vancouver. You will wire low‑voltage systems, configure networks, and ensure high‑quality workmanship on commercial and residential sites.

The ideal candidate has hands‑on experience with CCTV or low‑voltage installations, strong networking basics, and a clean BC driving record.

Qualifications

Experience installing CCTV, access control, or low-voltage security systems.
Comfortable running structured cabling and basic networking concepts (IP addressing, switches, PoE).
Valid BC driver's license with a clean driving record.
Comfortable working at heights and in various site conditions.
Strong attention to detail and pride in clean, professional workmanship.
Good communication skills and a customer-first attitude.

Responsibilities

Install, terminate, and configure IP and analog security cameras, NVRs/DVRs, and related hardware at commercial and residential sites.
Run and terminate low-voltage cabling neatly and to code.
Mount and align cameras, housings, and enclosures for optimal coverage.
Configure/test network connectivity for camera systems including basic VLAN/IP setup.
Install and configure access control components (door controllers, readers, locking hardware).
Test all systems on completion and walk clients through basic operation.
Complete clear, accurate job documentation and site photos for each installation.
Communicate professionally with clients, property managers, and site contacts.
Follow all safety procedures, including working at heights and on ladders/lifts.
