Job Summary

The Senior Security Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting the onboarding of Health Information Custodians (HICs) for contributing to and viewing Electronic Health Records. This involves conducting security risk assessments analyzing security documentation and assessing cybersecurity risks for service provider organizations. The specialist will provide security expertise facilitate collaboration and perform risk assessments for various projects products applications and services.

Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Responsibilities
  • Take a subject matter expert role in various security risk management initiatives.
  • Analyze solution architectures technology design and IT development processes to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Recommend options for risk management at appropriate levels.
  • Present security materials to product and digital solution groups.
  • Consult with teams to implement recommended security policies and related controls.
  • Track security control implementation and work through Risk Treatment plans.
  • Coordinate internal and external information security initiatives.
  • Take a leading role in offensive security practices and provide guidance to teams.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and maturing of the security program.
  • Effectively negotiate and resolve conflicts with individuals or teams.
  • Implement tools and processes to manage workflow and materials related to information security risk management.
  • Stay abreast of changes to industry best practices or legislative regulations.
  • Generate risk maps to guide risk owners and keep stakeholders informed.
  • Support the completion of security assessments using tools based on NIST CSF.
  • Review Threat Risk Assessments, VA scan reports, Penetration Test reports and other security documents.
  • Follow up with clients to complete documentation.
  • Execute Threat Risk Assessments for new / existing projects & applications.
