Job summary

Responsibilities

About the Role

Securitas is looking for an Operations Manager to lead day-to-day security operations for an assigned account. Reporting to the Security Lead and/or District Manager, you will oversee guarding operations across one or more sites, supervise frontline and supervisory personnel, and serve as a trusted point of contact for our clients.

This is a hands‑on leadership role for someone who can balance service excellence, team development, and cost control while holding the standard on compliance and professionalism.

What You'll Do

Lead Operations

• Manage a shift or segment of guarding operations across multiple sites, providing direct supervision of officers and supervisory staff.
• Conduct regular post inspections and audits to verify that post orders are followed and service standards are met.
• Take timely corrective action when service gaps or performance issues are identified.

Partner with Clients

• Build strong client relationships through regular contact, status meetings, and proactive issue resolution.
• Support new client start‑ups and contribute to security planning, risk assessments, and site surveys.
• Review post orders and communicate updates clearly to affected personnel.

Develop and Retain Talent

• Work with line management on the onboarding, training, and development of a high‑performing team.
• Coach employees, and administer progressive discipline when required, ensuring every team member is treated with dignity and respect.
• Foster a positive, professional workplace culture.

Manage Resources and Costs

• Coordinate scheduling, staffing, and equipment needs with line management.
• Adjust schedules in real time to meet client requirements while controlling labor costs.
• Review reports and records to confirm commitments have been met and client directions followed.

Ensure Compliance

• Ensure all personnel understand and comply with applicable union laws, regulations, company policies, and client requirements.
• Support line management in resolving legal, financial, HR, and administrative matters promptly.

Contribute to the Business

• Provide input into company initiatives and continuous improvement.
• Perform other duties of a similar nature and scope as assigned.

What You Bring

Required

• 2 to 3 years of professional experience, including supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Working knowledge of security operations and supervisory best practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, including the ability to produce clear, concise, professional reports.
• Strong planning, organizational, and leadership skills.
• A client‑first mindset and the interpersonal skills to build credibility at every level, from frontline officers to client executives.
• Initiative, sound judgment, and a track record of delivering results.
• High standards of integrity, ethics, and personal accountability.
• Valid provincial driver's license.
• Availability to work an assigned shift, including rotating schedules, weekends, evenings, overnights, and on‑call coverage.

Assets

• Diploma in Criminal Justice, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Prior experience in security or the military.
