  • Certificates in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB).

Status: Full Time
Hours: Rotating Continental (0700 - 1900 / 1900 - 0700)

Pay Rate: $23.98/hr

Job Description

In this key role, you will oversee a state-of-the-art healthcare command centre. Your role will include the following:

  • SOC Operator is a shift lead role, responsible for the oversight of the security platoon.
  • Responsible for orienting guards to their respective roles.
  • Assist in tracking and deployment of security staff.
  • Monitor and operate numerous command centre systems including, access control, CCTV, fire and life safety.
  • Make emergency overhead announcements.
  • Collaborate with the Security Coordinator on special projects.
  • Assist in training new staff.
  • Answer Telephones and dispatch calls from the command centre.
  • Handle a variety of dispatch duties including incident call taking.
  • Liaise with security staff, Paladin Operations Centre and assist with deployment.
  • Liaise with visitors, clients and staff.
  • Manage Lost & Found.
  • Manage the issuance and return of facility keys and ID/Access cards.
  • Issue Visitor and Contractor badges.
  • Maintain a professional composure when dealing with unusual circumstances and people under conditions of urgency and in pressure situations.
  • Write clear, concise, and legible reports.
  • Communicates any concerns/issues with Site Coordinator.
Requirements
  • A Valid Ontario Security Guard License
  • Proficient in English (both oral and written)
  • Degree in Police Foundations, Protection, Security and Investigations, Criminology, or Border Services
  • Proof of double Covid Vaccination
  • Immunization Record (measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, and TB skin tests 1 and 2)
  • Valid First Aid and CPR Level C Certification (WSIB Approved)
  • Experience working in a command or dispatch centre would be an asset
  • Authorized to legally work in Canada
  • Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
  • Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB certification program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
  • Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB certification is not paid as it is a pre-requisite; however, Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
