At our Burnaby Office, we are hiring for a full-time Security Operations Center Operator. This is a key customer service position in the company, responsible for making internal calls to our employees and ensuring their safety and well‑being on the field. The Dispatch team is also the first point of contact for all inbound employee calls to the Head Office. You will be ensuring our Security Officers receive quick and efficient support.
What would you do:
- Act as the main point of contact for all security guards and customer contact after hours
- Schedule all after‑hour requests
- Dispatch appropriate mobile resources to various sites
- Maintain database records of all Securiguard policies and procedures
- Manage break relief for Securiguard sites
- Ensure employees are checking in every hour or as required
- Work effectively with other team members to ensure that departmental goals and key performance indicators are achieved or exceeded
- Keep track of ongoing issues, resolving problems with the team and keeping client and personal up to date on progress.
What You Bring:
- Minimum 2 years of security operations experience, with a basic understanding of security protocols, incident response, or frontline operations.
- Experience in a Security Operations Centre (SOC), dispatch, control centre, or monitoring environment is required.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with good judgment, situational awareness, and attention to detail.
- Solid problem‑solving and decision‑making skills, especially during urgent or time‑sensitive situations.
- Comfortable using computers, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), and data entry tools.
- Ability to type 40+ WPM accurately.
Nice to Have:
- Valid BC Security Worker Licence (or ability to obtain).
- Experience using two‑way radios, telecom systems, or dispatch communication tools.
- Experience writing incident reports, summaries, or basic investigations.
- Familiarity with Real‑Time Adherence (RTA) and Workforce Management (WFM) systems.
- Basic understanding of CCTV, alarm monitoring, or access control systems (training provided).
- A positive and professional attitude with strong customer service skills.
- Ability to learn quickly and work effectively in a fast‑paced, team‑based environment.
